misc

on the art page of my site, there's a lot of images being handled, including the art itself and the icon. for managing a lot of them it does get really tedious given that this is a manual process. for that reason i quickly put together a python script that automates this process

it'll ask you for an image, prompt you to make a square crop of it, and then save it to two different specified folders, plus generating a html snippet based off the included template file

while i'm not sure if literally anyone else has this same kind of problem, if you're making a gallery of images manually that you want to make specifically cropped square icons for (if you don't mind an inconsistent size depending on the image,) then you'll find this tool of use!

installation instructions

  • you'll need python, at least 3.11.9
  • also the packages opencv-python and pillow
(the rest should come prebundled, use a venv environment so everything for running it stays within its own folder. vscode should prompt you about this!)
  • the zip file should include the README.MD file which houses the instructions and the expected process
  • for windows at least, i'd definitely recommend turning this into a desktop shortcut if you need to use this repeatedly. make a shortcut with the following parameters:

  • target: C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe /c c:/[your path to a python with the packages, or the .venv environment's python]/python.exe [your path to the project repo you just downloaded]/rmb_pages/rmb_pages.py
  • start in: [your path to the project repo you just downloaded]\rmb_pages

have you ever wanted to fling around the characters from hit game mindvisor across your desktop for some unknown reason? wanna look at them kinda just go around your desktop and sometimes crawl on the floor?

well for one, what kind of person even are you?

for two, now you can! the official (super official) mindvisor shimeji are now available for public download!

the mindvisor shimeji download contains the following characters:

  • ajax

old versions also included

installation instructions

you'll need shimeji-ee in order to use these (requires java and windows)

inside the contents of the download are a handful of folders, take those and drag them into [install directory]\shimejiee\img. once that's done, run the shimeji-ee .jar file, right click on its icon in the system tray, go to settings -> choose shimeji, and then select the ones you wanna use

this is one of the larger parts of the downloads page. what you're seeing here is over 2 GB worth of 600+ projects that were made during my time with the programming site named scratch, a visual-based programming language designed for youngins

with a clunky graphic editor and some horrible spelling, the scratchxt collection contains some of my first work in the digital space, including some bonus projects!

this collection contains three categories, the main projects from the accounts ScratchXT, ScratchXTRises, and ravenGenetrix. the latestremixes folder has the latest remixes of projects (such as ones that encourage adding your OC, have that be remixed, then remix that, etc), and the bonus folder contains misc projects that i thought were funny or some highlights of certain remixes. gifts also fall under this

(note that you'll need turbowarp desktop in other to load these projects, a fork of scratch that runs a lot faster than vanilla scratch)

it'll take a while to download, so You May Want to Get Some Snacks.
